Apple Pie Bites: A Dog Friendly Recipe
Today is National Apple Pie day, and your sweet dog deserves a taste. Here is a canine friendly, bite size recipe that is perfect for letting your dog enjoy a slice of the good life.
Apple Pie Bites
Makes Approximately 2 Dozen
2 Cored and Diced Apples
1 TBSP Cinnamon
1 TBSP Honey
1 TSP Vanilla Extract
1 TBSP Coconut Oil
2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
1 ½ TSP Baking Powder
½ Cup Milk
Preheat your oven to 350F
Wash, core, and dice apples (You can grate them as well to enjoy a smoother texture)
Add the cinnamon, flour, and baking powder to your apples and thoroughly mix.
In a separate bowl, mix together the honey, vanilla extract, coconut oil, milk, and eggs.
Combine both bowls and mix well.
Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a greased cookie sheet or glass baking dish.
Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool before serving.
My dog LOVES these! You can even top them off with a little bit of shredded Cheddar for even more of that Americana feel.
