FAQ - Does Mama Walk Dogs ONLY work with Dogs?

With a name like Mama Walks Dogs, we sure do get asked this question a lot. If you'd like the quick answer, right below is our video response, but for the long answer continue reading ..

Ok, you're still reading, so here's the deal:

YES! We do provide care for other critters.

Mama Walks Dogs specializes in walking dogs. Dogs love walks, and we want to give it to them. Giving your dog a regular walk provides SO many benefits to their lives:

• Socialization to sounds, sights, and smells that they may not encounter in your home

• Physical fitness: keeps the pounds from creeping in with all the extra treats

• Mental stimulation: gives your pup something new to ponder and explore

• Choice: allows your dog to choose how they engage with their community which reinforces their own personhood

• Develops their self confidence

That being said, sometimes pet parents need to travel and can't take their fur-kids with them. This is why we offer Vacation Care (pet sitting). Wouldn't it be silly to contact your pet sitter and find out that they won't care for your cat while they are already coming to care for your dog??

Yeah, we thought that it sounded ridiculous too.

For this reason we offer care for other critters as well: fish, cats, hamsters, chickens, etc.

The only animals that we do NOT offer care for are reptiles and arachnids. Our team lacks the knowledge and skill to give exceptional care to these species.

Yes, that does mean we are happy to see your horse, goats, and pigs too :)
