Looking for something fun to do around Academy and Austin Bluffs with your canine best friend?

I took my wonderful dog, Odin, and our canine guest, Tess, to Rescued Hearts Thrift Store. I’ve been hearing a lot about this place from one of their volunteers and she did not do it justice. This was a dog/cat-mom paradise! Plenty crazy cat lady signs, stickers, and t-shirts. A large variety of used and new dog toys, cat toys, cat/small dog strollers, large dog strollers, kennels, jewelry, and much more! It was a feast for the senses. I highly recommend setting a budget before entering the store because there are a lot of great deals here.

After updating our dog and cat toy selection at Rescued Hearts, we picked up some dog treats next door at The Cupcake Doctor. They recently started carrying a limited amount of dog treats and pup cupcakes. While their canine tidbit options were underwhelming, my pups sang their culinary praises! Be prepared with a friend or family member to stay outside with your dog as The Cupcake Doctor can’t have furry friends inside the store at this time.
